Me and My World - Your Voice

Introduction

As a foster carer to a child in care it is important that you are able to contribute fully to their Me and My World Review and to identify how things are going for the child, you and your wider family. The new Me and My World Review means that you will be doing this in two key ways. The first is the letter that you will write to the child every six months where you will write of their key events, achievements and magic moments in their life. This letter is intended for the child and personal to your relationship with them.

Alongside this letter it is important that you have the opportunity to reflect on other aspects of the child’s care in the review period. You will need to think about the child’s needs, your views about their care plan, how the adults around the child have worked together to meet their needs and if there is anything that you think might help them now or in the longer-term. You can record your views about these things here and share them with the Independent Reviewing Officer (IRO) and/or social worker during the Me and My World Review process. You can use the form flexibly, only filling in the parts that are relevant to you.
